General
What is TEAM Cloud?
TEAM Cloud is New Zealand's only fully sovereign hyperscale cloud. It provides the benefits of a global hyperscale cloud solution — powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) via Oracle Alloy — while being explicitly designed for New Zealand organisations. All data resides in data centres solely located in New Zealand, under New Zealand jurisdiction.
What makes TEAM Cloud 'sovereign'?
TEAM Cloud's sovereign cloud attributes include data residency within New Zealand, protection from the USA PATRIOT Act and the CLOUD Act, New Zealand-based commercial transactions in NZD, and operation under New Zealand law. Profits result in corporate tax and GST paid in New Zealand, and the company has New Zealand ownership, including Iwi ownership.
What cloud services does TEAM Cloud offer?
TEAM Cloud provides a rich set of OCI services including compute, storage, networking, database, middleware PaaS capabilities, Kubernetes (OKE), AI services, and more. Customers can also access third-party applications through the TEAM Cloud Marketplace.
Getting Started
How do I get started with TEAM Cloud?
After your order is placed by a TEAM Cloud Sales representative, you'll receive a welcome email with a link to create your cloud account. Follow the Onboarding guide, which covers tenancy activation, navigating the cloud console, financial operations, support operations, and core architecture concepts.
Can I choose my home region?
Yes. TEAM Cloud offers two dedicated regions — Auckland West and Auckland North. You select your home region during activation. The home region cannot be changed after activation, but you can subscribe your tenancy to the other TEAM Cloud peer region later.
Is multi-factor authentication (MFA) required?
Yes. MFA is mandatory and you will be prompted to set it up the first time you log in. TEAM Cloud supports the Oracle Mobile Authenticator app, available on iOS, Android, and Windows.
Pricing & Billing
How is TEAM Cloud priced?
TEAM Cloud offers flexible subscription models: Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG), billed monthly in arrears based on actual usage, or TEAM Cloud Universal Credits (TCUCs), which allow you to pre-purchase a pool of credits that can be applied to any TEAM Cloud OCI service. All pricing is in New Zealand Dollars (NZD), eliminating exchange rate fluctuations.
What are TEAM Cloud Universal Credits (TCUCs)?
TCUCs are pre-purchased credit pools that can be applied to any TEAM Cloud OCI service across any region. Two commitment options are available: Annual Flex 1 (12-month, 10% discount vs PAYG) and Annual Flex 3 (36-month, 15% discount vs PAYG). Credits can be used flexibly — your usage may vary hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly.
Are there discounts available for government agencies?
Yes. TEAM Cloud's Government Savings Offer provides significant discounts for eligible government agencies committing to a minimum public cloud spend of NZD $25,000 per month or more. This includes a minimum 30% cost reduction on equivalent IaaS services compared with major hyperscale providers, with average savings in practice exceeding 47% for several public-sector workloads.
Is there free data egress?
Yes. The first 10TB of data egress per month is free, whether via internet access or secure direct connect using FastConnect.
Trials & Evaluation
Can I try TEAM Cloud before committing?
Yes. TEAM Cloud offers a “Try Before You Buy” approach with flexible proof of concept (PoC) and evaluation engagements assessed on a case-by-case basis. The process involves an initial consultation, scope definition, commercial agreement, and rapid provisioning (1–5 business days). Evaluation periods are typically 30–90 days depending on requirements.
Connectivity
How do I connect to TEAM Cloud?
There are three main connectivity options: OCI FastConnect for dedicated, private connections with high throughput (1–100 GB/sec) and low latency; IPSec VPN over the public internet for encrypted, cost-effective connections ideal for PoCs and smaller workloads; and Public Internet access via HTTPS for SaaS applications or general access to TEAM Cloud services.
What is FastConnect?
FastConnect provides a dedicated, private connection from your on-premises data centre or other clouds directly to TEAM Cloud. It offers high throughput, low latency, consistent performance, and port-based pricing. TEAM Cloud maintains FastConnect partnerships with providers including Megaport.
Migration
What migration tools are available?
TEAM Cloud supports several migration methods including Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) for lift-and-shift of VMware environments, Oracle Cloud Migrations service for automated migrations, Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM) for databases, Oracle Data Pump, Golden Gate, and Data Guard for various database migration scenarios, and third-party tools such as ZConverter, Rackware, and Platespin.
Can I migrate my VMware environment as-is?
Yes. Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) allows you to move your entire VMware environment to TEAM Cloud without changing your existing VMware tools or processes. VMware images can be moved from an on-premises ESXi environment to VMware on OCI with no changes.
Is migration support available?
Yes. TEAM Cloud's professional services partner, TEAM IM, can work directly with you or your preferred partner. Additionally, Oracle Cloud Lift Services provides migration support for non-production workloads, and the Oracle Centre of Excellence (CoE) offers access to OCI experts for planning, architecture, and go-live management.
Support
What support is included with TEAM Cloud?
All customers receive Base Support, which includes 24/7 customer service coverage, 8–6 Monday to Friday technical support, access to documentation and knowledge base, and service health notifications. Support is provided by OCI-certified cloud architects and engineers based in Wellington, New Zealand.
What are the support response times?
For Business and Enterprise Support tiers: Critical (Severity 1) — initial response within 15 minutes; High (Severity 2) — within 1 hour; Medium (Severity 3) — within 4 hours; Low (Severity 4) — within 8 hours.
What support tiers are available?
